A selection of some of our work from Goodwood Festival of Speed,  the largest motoring garden party in the world, featuring  historic motor racing vehicles.
We had the pleasure of once again working on the interiors and exteriors to a number of the festival’s hospitality and sponsors areas, seen below.

The Festival of Speed is a giant four-day annual event celebrating all things motoring; giving the opportunity for enthusiasts to get up close and personal with cars new and old. 2017 hosted the event’s 24th year and we have had the pleasure of working with Goodwood for 10 of those. Each year, the festival itself and what we deliver, grows and we now provide interiors and exteriors to a number of the festival’s hospitality and sponsors areas, creating a high specification and a Seamless finish throughout.

The festival itself is huge; taking up a large space on the ‘front lawn’ of Lord March’s house on the Goodwood Estate. The build, which ends the day before the event opens, takes around 4-5 weeks to complete. As the build grows, the space available and schedule to work within gets tighter by the day. The last week sees the site as a vast hive of activity, where moving around on site by foot and vehicle becomes the biggest challenge.

One of the nail-biting highlights of this year’s build included getting a brand new Lamborghini into one of the structures while the crew and passers-by watched with baited breath. Following that, we had to work within the structure knowing there was a luxury supercar just feet away! Our very accomplished team worked expertly to create a hard walling system and linings to finish the space perfectly, housing 3 of these glorious super-cars for the event.

Festival of Speed was by far one of the most challenging builds of the year due to the scorching heat we had in June; building and painting in a glass fronted tent challenged the whole crew, but thanks to efficient planning and plenty of ice lollies, the end result was fantastic as usual.

But, all good things must come to an end and removal begins the moment the event finishes, taking just under a week. Stripping each structure back bare so they can be disassembled and taken to the next event, only the marks in the grass left as a reminder of this glorious occasion.

The Festival of Speed is one of the greatest opportunities for us to showcase our bespoke skills; installing seamless roof and wall linings, beautifully and efficiently, knowing that Goodwood and Lord March himself can rely on us to maintain and exceed the high standard they have come to expect for such a prestigious event.

“It was great having you and your team involved and many thanks for your commitment, energy and help in delivering a terrific event this year, you played a very important part in it all. I do hope it all went really well for you too, and many thanks again for all your support.” Lord March
