Work included: Design | Build | Fit-out

Building on longstanding relationships with clients, including Neptunus, AP & Co., Roder UK, and Foodbydish, our team was once again able to deliver high-spec interiors and bespoke fit-outs across the 2025 Chelsea Flower Show.

Each year, the RHS Chelsea Flower Show transforms the Royal Hospital grounds into a showcase of creativity, design, and pure spectacle. For 2025, our team at LOCK5 was right in the thick of it, quietly making the magic happen behind the scenes.

Over two and a half weeks, our crew of 20 skilled craftspeople, including carpenters, tackers, labourers, and logistics experts, brought a range of temporary spaces to life for four different clients across multiple zones. Each structure was totally unique, but the goal was always to create seamless, stylish environments that made sure the event shone

SPRING GARDENS

In the Spring Gardens area, we worked on two key structures for Neptunus and AP & Co.. Our team created everything back-of-house, from roof and wall linings to blackout baffles. These partitions were designed to block sightlines into kitchen and prep areas, which shielded diners from the behind-the-scenes bustle and gave staff the privacy they needed to work comfortably.

We also handled the outside aesthetic with decking, handrails, and cladding. These were designed and built to disguise the underlying framework to keep things looking polished and premium and to set the stage for dressing and theming on the main outdoor terrace area.

One of the main design features of the outdoor space was a bespoke outdoor pergola, which covers approximately 99mยฒ of outside decking. We designed and built a bespoke pergola for an amazing outdoor bar with a pianist and open-air seating. The pergola was fully waterproof and provided shelter and style in equal measure.

Inside, we built chalet-style dining rooms with modular MDF walls in a stunning Apricot Crush shade. These movable partitions were beautiful as well as entirely flexible. Each aspect of them was designed in-house and built to move and adapt as the client’s plans changed throughout the show. We then supplied the lighting for this space, helping to create a more immersive experience.

Even the bathrooms didnโ€™t escape our attention. We installed linings to make these temporary units feel like permanent, luxury fixtures, clean, smart, and fitting with the rest of the build.

QUEEN ELIZABETH II SUITE

Elsewhere on the showground, we collaborated with Neptunus and catering partner Food by Dish on the QEII Pavilion. This single-deck structure is a renowned venue with royal ties and provides a refined space at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. The design was inspired by Georgian baroque elegance, which brought the space to life in timeless Lulworth Blue. Our team managed the complete internal fit-out, from roof linings and feature walls to intricate lighting sconces and external cladding. The finished product was a seamless blend of heritage charm and contemporary sophistication.

CHAMPAGNE AND SEAFOOD

We worked alongside Foodbydish, who wanted to elevate the overall finish in this area and create something impactful. We customised the QEII hard walling with a design that allowed for the projection of the clientโ€™s logo. This design was all about flexibility, as it meant that the space could double as both a branding moment and a smart divider.

We were also able to implement terracotta-hued boards, once again with the classic Georgian feel. These added a wonderful sense of warmth and refinement to the space.

THAMES VIEW CAFร‰

In this area, we collaborated closely with Roder UK to put together a clean, refined finish across the space. Our team installed stock roof and wall linings to soften the structure, along with custom leg boxes, discreet baffles, and gutter links to maintain a sleek, uninterrupted look. Every element was designed to blend seamlessly into the surroundings.

BRINGING IT ALL TOGETHER

With multiple zones and a fast-paced two-and-a-half-week build, it took serious coordination to bring everything together. Our dedicated site foreman, Sheldon, helped to keep the entire team focused, agile, and on time. Between deliveries, logistics, and last-minute tweaks, there were a lot of moving parts, but our team rose to the challenge. The end result was a smooth build, happy clients, and an event space to which we were proud to put our name.
