We are looking for multi-skilled crew members to join our established team on a full-time basis. Working on site at various locations within the UK and internationally and at our headquarters. Candidates may have experience in a range of skills such as carpentry, upholstery or painting and decorating.

Are you multi-skilled with the ability to turn your hand to anything practical? Do you have previous experience within the events industry?

Experience in event work or another fast industry would be an advantage and the ability to learn new skills would be a bonus. The successful candidate will be able to integrate into our established team – they will need to have excellent attention to detail and produce work to a high standard.

  • Reporting to: Operations manager
  • Relationships: Customers; Suppliers; LOCK5 MD and Management Team; reporting team and sub-contractors.
  • Location: Onsite based with occasional time in the Lock 5 yard.

Acceptable candidates will be:

  • Motivated, conscientious, hard-working, with good attention to detail and willing ness to learn new skills.
  • Prepared to accept varied hours and overnight stays on location.
  • Demonstrate a high degree of professionalism at all times
  • Possession of full, UK driver’s licence is desirable.
  • Experience of forklift driving and IPAF/ PASMA certificate advantageous, but not essential.
  • Holding a first aid certificate or a CSCS card would be advantageous.
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the UK is essential, if required.

workshop-assistant

We are currently looking to recruit an enthusiastic person for our busy workshop in North Waltham.

Your day will be spent in the workshop, prepping loads for site, assisting with maintenance of company stock and prepping products for events, loading and unloading company vehicles’.

In return, the successful candidate will get:

  • A competitive basic salary.

Essential requirements:

  • Forklift Licence
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of, hardware, timber products and their application.

Reporting to: Operations Manager

Working Hours: Full time role working on site and at the company warehouse and manufacturing base with extended working periods away in the UK or overseas

Summary:

Lock5 installs bespoke solution to the event industry for sporting, cultural and social events across the UK and Europe. The Site Foreman operates on site working with the Lock 5 team and site contractors delivering the complete project to the client. They will work with fabric and timber materials and provide the support and leadership to the onsite installation teams.

Roles:

  • Ensure the delivery plan is resourced and provisioned correctly
  • Managing site teams to deliver projects to schedule
  • Manage and record adjustments to delivery
  • Act as primary point of contact for the client on site
  • Ensure all site and conditions are applied establishing best working practices for site safety and sustainability
  • Manage all company assets and materials whilst on site
    Liaise and report on site activity to improve delivery

Requirements:

  • Capability in all aspects of site installation carpentry, rigging, lining and finishing
  • Managing a team of installation and manufacturing specialists focussing on efficiency, professionalism and performance
  • Communicate clear and precise instructions to delivery teams
  • Receive deliveries and account for all materials on site
  • Supervise and manage the safe operation of all site equipment
  • Administer the onsite team and report on attendance, performance and issues affecting the delivery of the project or impact on the business
  • Professional qualification in site management and safety is desirable (SMSTS/ IOSH/NEBOSH)
  • Review, reflect and report on individual, team and project performance with a view of continuously improving delivery

sewing-machinist

Reporting to: Operations Manager

Based in our sewing workshop you will be able to follow a pattern and or read from a drawing so you can cut and manufacture fabric linings to a precise size. You will be responsible for ensuring the manufacturing area is clean/tidy at all times and the products you sew are done on time and to the required quality. You will be able to repair minor problems with the equipment.

You will have a positive attitude, a hands on, dig in with the team approach and be able to converse with your team and your team leaders.

Duties:

  • Follow a set of drawings/pattern or instructions for each sewing job.
  • Cut fabric from a pattern/drawing for each sewing job.
  • Sew different fabrics, like cotton, wool, polyesters and blackouts.
  • Draw threads through and change machine settings for different jobs.
  • Keep accurate records of materials used for each sewing task/job.
  • Ensure your working area is clean and tidy, the correct bins are used and all equipment/lighting is turned off at the end of the shift.
  • Maintain the equipment ensuring it is clean and oiled and report faults to a supervisor
  • Check finished work against drawing/pattern instructions.
  • Check work has correct label sew in and is packed and labelled correctly.
  • Check, wash, dry, fold, label and pack any laundry
  • Stock checking and inventory

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure Health and safety of workers and visitors.
  • Ensure laundry is processed in a timely manner.
  • Supporting team members.
  • Ensuring that all equipment checks are carried out on schedule.
  • Report any damages/repairs to equipment to the Operations supervisor.
  • Ensure that general tidiness and cleanliness of the area is kept at all times.
  • Assist with any adhoc tasks.
